Notification settings are in Settings on your account. Some messages you cannot turn off, because they are about your account rather than about content.
What you can control
| Subscription reminders. When one is about to expire, and when it renews. Worth leaving on, since renewals are the charges people forget about. |
| Activity from creators you follow. New posts and updates. |
What always comes through
Password resets, security notices, receipts, and anything about your account or your payments. These are not marketing and cannot be switched off, because you would need them at exactly the moment they arrive.
Keep your email address confirmed
An unconfirmed address means no password reset if you get locked out, and no security notice if someone else signs in. It is worth checking yours is verified even if you never want another email from us.
If you change your email address, confirm the new one straight away rather than leaving it.

+Do your emails say Hidden in the subject line?
If discretion matters to you, check what a recent email from us looks like in your inbox before deciding what to leave switched on.
+I am not receiving anything.
Check your spam folder first, then that the address on your account is correct and confirmed. Adding us to your contacts helps.
+Can I turn everything off?
You can turn off the optional ones. Account and payment messages will still arrive, and you would want them to.
+I got an email asking for my password.
It was not from us. We never ask for your password. Do not click anything in it, and tell us where it came from.
