I tipped the wrong amount, can I get a refund?
Last updated 6 August 2026
Tips complete the moment you confirm them and cannot be reversed automatically. If the amount was a genuine mistake, contact us and we will look at it.
| Why | A tip is a voluntary payment that completes as soon as you confirm it. There is no holding period and no cancellation window, so there is nothing waiting to be stopped. |
| Who to ask | Us, not the creator. Creators have no way to return a payment, so asking them will not get you anywhere. Email bill@hidden.com with the date, the amount, and the creator's username. |
| What happens | We look at these case by case. Tell us what happened and we will tell you what we can do. We would rather hear from you than have you find out from your bank that a dispute takes six weeks. |
| Next time | Check the amount on the confirmation screen before you tap through. Amounts are in US dollars, so the figure you see is the figure that leaves your account, before any conversion your bank applies. |
When it is not just a wrong amount
Some of these turn out to be something else, and these are faults rather than regret. Tell us straight away if:
| You did not send the tip at all and it appeared on your account |
| You were charged more than once for the same tip |
| The amount charged does not match the amount you entered |
| You think someone else has access to your account or your card |
Send us the date, the amount, and the creator's username, and we will investigate.
Common questions
+Can the creator send it back to me?
No. There is no way for a creator to return a payment, however much they might want to. Anything of this kind has to come through us.
+I added a zero by mistake.
Contact us as soon as you notice. Tell us what you meant to send and what actually went through.
+How long do I have to report it?
Tell us within 30 days of the charge appearing. After that we are much more limited in what we can do.
+Does the same apply to paid posts and messages?
Buying the wrong thing works the same way, yes. If you paid for something and it never arrived, that is a different situation. See What if I paid but didn't get the content?
