A tip is charged in the same way as any other payment, so a tip that will not send is almost always a declined card rather than a problem with tipping. Nothing is charged when it fails.
Check these first
| The amount. The smallest tip you can send is $5. Anything below that will not go through. |
| Your card details. Card number, expiry date, security code, and billing address, all exactly as your bank holds them. |
| The verification step. If your bank sent a code or asked you to approve the payment, complete it without leaving the page. |
Errors such as Card not accepted, Enter another card, or Transaction could not be processed all mean the same thing: your bank declined the payment. They do not tell us why, and they are not specific to tipping.
If it still will not send
Declines have several possible causes, and the fix depends on which one applies to you.
