Every payment between you and a fan has to happen on Hidden. Taking payment through anything else, for anything, can cost you your account and your balance.
What this covers
Any arrangement where money moves outside the platform. Custom content paid for by bank transfer, a payment app, a gift card, a wishlist, or cryptocurrency. It applies whether the fan suggested it or you did, and whether it happened once or regularly.
It also applies to directing fans to another platform to pay you for something they found here.
Why the rule exists
We are required to know who is paying and who is being paid, under anti-money laundering and know your customer rules. Payments that happen outside the platform sit outside that, which is a problem for us legally and for you practically.
It also removes every protection you have. An off-platform payment has no record we can see, no way for us to verify what was agreed, and no recourse if the fan reverses it or never sends it. Creators who take payments this way and then come to us for help are usually in a position where there is nothing we can do.
What happens if you do it
Accounts involved in off-platform payments can be suspended or closed. Where an account is closed for this, earnings may be withheld.
Fans asking you to pay or be paid off-platform is itself worth reporting, because it is often the opening move in a scam aimed at creators.
Doing it properly
Custom content and extras are sold through the platform, using paid messages or paid posts. Price it, send it, get paid, and the transaction is recorded, protected, and counted toward your earnings.
Common questions
+A fan wants to send me money directly.
Ask them to tip you here instead. It reaches you the same way and neither of you is taking a risk.
+What about a wishlist?
Anything that amounts to payment for content or services has to go through the platform. Get in touch before setting something up if you are unsure where the line is.
+Can I link to my other platforms?
Social links on your profile are fine. Directing a fan elsewhere to pay you for something is not.
+A fan is pressuring me to go off-platform.
Report them. Persistent pressure to move a payment elsewhere is a known pattern, and you are not the first person they have asked.
