Payments don’t always go through the first time, but it’s usually an easy fix. When a payment fails, Hidden automatically retries it up to three times. If it still doesn’t succeed, here are the most common reasons and how to resolve them.
Common reasons a payment fails
Incorrect card details
A small typo can cause a payment to fail. Double-check your card number, expiration date, CVV code, and the name on the card.
Insufficient funds
If there aren’t enough funds in your account, your payment will be declined. Try adding funds or using a different card.
Incorrect billing address
Banks often use address verification as a fraud check. Make sure your address matches exactly what your bank has on file, and that your zip or postal code is correct.
Daily spending limit
Hidden accounts have a daily transaction limit that resets every 24 hours. If you’ve reached today’s limit, try again tomorrow.
Bank or card provider limits
Some banks have extra security settings for online transactions. If your bank is blocking the purchase, contact them directly to remove or raise the limit.
Proxy or VPN use
If you’re using a proxy or VPN, your bank may detect an unfamiliar IP address and block the transaction. Disable your VPN or reach out to your bank for help.
What to do next
- Remove and re-add your card to your Hidden account.
- Try a different card or payment method.
- Contact your bank or card issuer and ask why the transaction is being declined.
