Can I post AI-generated content?
Last updated 6 August 2026
AI is allowed in how you make content, as long as the content is of you and you say that AI was involved. It is not allowed for anything featuring another person, or for talking to your fans.
| Yes | AI content of yourself Generated, altered, or enhanced, as long as it clearly features you as the verified creator on the account. |
| Yes | AI editing and enhancement Retouching, upscaling, background changes, and similar work on your own content. |
| No | AI content featuring anyone else Whether they are a Hidden creator, someone you know, or a public figure. Consent is not a workaround here, and neither is the person being fictional if the likeness is recognisable. |
| No | AI writing your messages Chats and direct messages have to come from you. Chatbots, autoresponders, and AI drafting tools are not permitted in conversations with fans. |
Labelling it
Anything generated or enhanced with AI has to be identifiable as such. The simplest way is to add #ai to the post.
Label it even when the change is small. A retouched image that has not been declared is still undeclared, and fans who find out afterwards tend to treat it as a bigger deal than the edit itself warranted.
Why the rule about other people exists
AI content of someone who did not agree to it is one of the most serious things that can appear on a platform like this. It causes real harm to the person depicted, and in many countries it is a criminal offence rather than a policy matter.
We do not make exceptions for it, including where the subject is another creator who says they are happy with it. Content featuring more than one person goes through the normal release process instead.
What happens if you break these rules
Unlabelled AI content is removed and you will usually be asked to repost it correctly. Repeated cases affect your account standing.
AI content of another person, and AI used in messages, are treated more seriously and can result in your account being closed on a first instance, depending on what was posted.
Common questions
+Does a filter count as AI?
Ordinary filters and colour adjustments do not need labelling. Anything that generates or substantially alters what is in the image does. If you are unsure, label it.
+Can I use AI to write captions or post text?
The restriction is on conversations with fans. Captions and descriptions are not treated the same way as direct messages.
+Can I use an AI voice of myself?
Treat it as AI content of yourself: allowed, and label it. It must still be your own voice being generated, not someone else's.
+Someone has posted AI content of me.
Report it and tell us it is AI content of you without your agreement. We treat these urgently. If it is elsewhere on the internet rather than on Hidden, tell us anyway and we will point you to the right process.
