What to do if someone else accessed your account

Change your password, then check your payout details. Someone in a creator account will usually go for the money before anything else, and changed bank details are easy to miss.
Lock them out
| 1. Change your password Straight away, to something not used anywhere else. |
| 2. Secure your email account Whoever controls the email address controls password resets, so change that password too and turn on two-factor authentication there. |
| 3. If you cannot sign in Use Forgot Password. If no reset email arrives, the address on the account has probably been changed, and you need to tell us now rather than keep trying. |
Check these next, in this order
| Your payout details. The bank account or payment method your earnings go to. If it has been changed, tell us immediately, before the next payout runs. |
| Your balance and payout history. Look for a withdrawal you did not request, or a payout request sitting pending. |
| Your messages. Anything sent to your fans while they had access, particularly requests for money or links. |
| Your posts. Anything published, deleted, or unlocked that you did not do. |
| Your profile and prices. Handle, email address, social links, and subscription price. |
Tell us straight away
Do not wait to work out what happened first. Contact support and say your creator account was accessed by someone else. Include:
| Your username and the email address on the account |
| Whether your payout details have changed |
| Any payout requested that was not yours |
| Roughly when you think it started |
A pending payout can sometimes be stopped if we hear in time. Once it has left, recovering it is much harder.
Warn your fans if anything was sent
If messages went out from your account, post something telling your subscribers to ignore them. Whoever had access may have asked people for money or sent links, and your fans have no way of knowing it was not you.
Common questions
+How did they get in?
Usually a reused password from a site that was breached, or a phishing message pretending to be from us. Creators are targeted more than most, because the accounts hold money. We never ask for your password.
+Can I get a stolen payout back?
Tell us as soon as you notice. What is possible depends on how far along the payment is, so speed matters more than anything else here.
+They deleted my posts.
Tell us what is missing and roughly when it went. Say so early rather than reposting everything first.
+Will my account be suspended while you investigate?
We may pause payouts briefly while we make sure the details on the account are yours. That protects your money rather than withholding it.
